(Ages 8-17) The Y is combining all the best elements of Youth Sports with all the fun & excitement of gaming, with the all new ESPORTS Program!

The Y can be the best open and competitive eSports league in the country for youth through a private, in person and online competitive program where kids and parents can be safe, moderated, and trained. A national Y branded program will promote teamwork, leadership, online safety, and individual growth steeped in YMCA Youth Development practices and with an equity focus.

YMCA eSports Program

We’re excited to launch the YMCA eSports Program, a structured and supervised gaming experience designed for kids and teens. This program blends the excitement of competitive video gaming with the YMCA’s focus on character development, teamwork, and healthy habits — all in a safe, positive environment.

What Participants Will Gain

Skill Development
Players will learn core gaming fundamentals such as game mechanics, strategy, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

Teamwork & Communication
Participants will be placed on teams to promote collaboration, communication, and problem-solving — skills that translate far beyond gaming.

Structured, Age-Appropriate Play
All games and activities are intentionally selected and organized to balance fun, learning, and development.

Healthy Gaming Habits
We emphasize responsible gaming by incorporating conversations around screen time, balance, physical activity, and overall wellness.

Active Lifestyle Balance
Each session begins with 10–15 minutes of dynamic movement and stretching to get participants active and energized before gameplay.

Competitive League Play
Competitive league matches will take place on Saturdays at the corresponding locations, providing participants the opportunity to apply their skills in a structured, team-based league environment.

Whether your child is brand new to gaming or already experienced, the YMCA eSports Program provides a welcoming space for all skill levels to learn, grow, and connect.
