Swim Team
The Kraken Swim Team offers youth the chance to experience the enormous health benefits of swimming while enjoying the fun, excitement, and character lessons that come with being a member of a competitive swim team. As part of the Sundance League, The YMCA competes with 8 other teams in the greater Albuquerque area from May to July. Sundance Championships are scheduled for July 19.
McLeod Kraken Swim Team (Ages 5-8)
Swimmers are placed in age groups according to their age as of May 1st: Girls/ Boys (8 and Under), (9-10), (11-12), (13-14) and (15-18)
Pre-Season practice is May 2 through May 23 Wednesdays 5:30- 6:30pm and Saturdays 9:30 to 10:30am.
Regular season practice starts May 26 through July 18 Monday/Wednesday/Friday mornings 8:00am 9:00am Tuesday/ Thursday 4:00pm – 5:00pm
Start times and duration my change depending on registration numbers. Swim meets are held weekly with meet schedule TBD. Hosting team determines day and time of the swim meet.
A $30 Sundance Aquatic Association fee is required for all swimmers.
*Participants must be registered with a family or single-parent family membership to receive member rate. Membership must remain active for the duration of the program.*
