Youth Volleyball
Youth Volleyball (Ages 8 – 17)
A fast-paced and exciting game, volleyball fosters strong team bonding on and off the court. These programs focus on sharpening skills and learning the rules all in a fun, in both a non-competitive and competitive environment.
YMCA youth sports encourage and promote healthy kids, families, and communities by placing a priority on family involvement, healthy competition rather than rivalry, the value of participation over winning, team-building as well as individual development, a positive self-image, and a sense of fair play and mutual respect for others. Parents are encouraged to be more than mere spectators, by contributing their time as volunteer coaches—as well as being their kid’s greatest fan.

VIEW
From passing to hitting, the YMCA’s youth volleyball program teaches the fundamentals of volleyball and provides kids with a positive volleyball experience. Through regular practices and games, teammates gain a strong knowledge of volleyball, from setting to passing to blocking and more. Plus, they have fun and learn teamwork, which leads to a lifelong love of volleyball.
Teams practice once per week and play eight games per season. All teams are led by volunteer coaches. Parental involvement, whether as a team volunteer, cheerleader, or coach, is a key to success.

The youth volleyball league gives boys and girls a chance to go beyond. Emphasis is on player development through higher-level competition. In this league, the Y still encourages and promotes healthy kids, families, and communities by placing a priority on family involvement, healthy competition, equal playing time, fun, and sportsmanship.
Teams practice once per week and play eight games per season in addition to a single-elimination tournament. All teams are led by volunteer coaches. Parental involvement, whether as a team volunteer, cheerleader, or coach, is a key to success.
